Despite a relatively rainy winter, fire officials say homeowners should make fire safety a priority as the dry season approaches.
“It’s been a wet winter so far. We’ve had a couple fires but not a whole lot in our area,” said Florida Forest Service wildfire mitigation specialist Patrick Mahoney. However, as the dry season approaches, people should take steps to reduce their risks of being affected by a wildfire.
