City ponders health insurance changes

The Arcadia City Council reviewed several proposals that would potentially alter healthcare programs for city employees. The Council is looking at potential changes on the heels of a large spike in Florida BlueCross/BlueShield premiums.

Finance Director Beth Carsten told the council the city currently pays 95 percent of employee premiums, and staying with the current plan would cost the city an additional $65,730.60 in 2015.
