June Patricia Lopata

June Patricia Lopata, 74, of Arcadia, Florida, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017, in Arcadia, Florida.

June was born Feb. 1, 1943, in Springfield, Massachusetts, moving to Arcadia in 1990 from Chicopee, Massachusetts.

June was a high school graduate. After high school, June attended cosmetology school and ultimately opened a hairstyling shop in Massachusetts. She worked at that until retiring to Florida in 1990. June enjoyed volunteering for Catholic charities by tutoring the youth of the church. She was a member of the Council of Catholic Women (CCW) and St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Arcadia. June was an avid animal lover, bird watcher, and enjoyed arts and crafts. She also enjoyed singing and camping.

Survivors are her beloved husband, Walter Lopata, Arcadia; one son, Robert (fiancée Ashley Mason) Lopata, Homestead, Florida; brother, Bob Branka, Chicopee; and best friend and cousin, Josephine Smuk, Springfield, Massachusetts; two grandchildren, Kalayssa Lopata and Cassandra Capistrant; and two great-grandchildren, Chase Fredenburg, and Lilly Fredenburg all of Lakeland, Florida. June is preceded in death by her parents.
