Carol A. Ullrich

Carol A. Ullrich, 80, entered into rest Friday, May 12, 2017.

She was born Nov. 22, 1936, in Grand Island, New York.

She was a resident of Englewood, Florida, formerly of Grand Island, New York. She was the wife of Melvin E. Ullrich Jr., mother of Kevin R. (Carol) and Melvin E. III (Sharon) Ullrich, sister of Robert (Joan) Kingston and the late Lois (Paul) Fegel, and daughter of the late Art and Helen Kingston.

She was the beloved grandmother of Melissa E. and Hannah E. Ullrich and Jeryl A. and Paul C. Soto. Carol is also survived by five great-grandchildren.

Carol was an active member of the RWWC serving as a past president. She enjoyed being part of the Card Club and Book Club.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 25, 2017, at the Lions Club, 4611 Placida Road, Englewood.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the GFWC Rotonda West Women’s Club Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 672, Placida FL 33946.

David Brian Bellis

David Brian Bellis, 64, of North Port, Florida, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017.

He was born Nov. 30, 1952, in Passaic, New Jersey.

David was a veteran of both the Air Force, serving in the Vietnam War, and also the Army, which is the branch he retired from after 26 years of service. After moving to North Port, David worked as a nurse at the Port Charlotte VA Clinic for almost 17 years. David spent more than 40 years serving others through his nursing career. He will be remembered as a man dedicated to taking care of America’s heroes.

David’s happy place was Cherokee, North Carolina, where he was seen most often with a fishing pole in his hand.

He was devoted to the love of his life, his family, and all those he called family.

David is survived by his wife, Pamela Page-Bellis of North Port; daughter, Shaunna Bellis-Nottingham (Robert) of North Port; sons, Joshua Bellis of New Jersey and Michael Bellis (Nicole) of Maryland; and grandchildren, Khalan and Isaiah.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Suncoast Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations should be directed to the Ronald McDonald House of Central Georgia in memory of David Bellis — “Khalan’s Poppy.”
