Richard Gary Farwell, 67, of Zolfo Springs, Fla., died Monday, Oct. 7, 2013.
He was born in Nov. 26, 1945, Hardee County, Fla., and had been a lifelong Hardee County resident.
Mr. Farwell served in the U.S. Air Force, was a farmer, and attended Cowboy Up Ministry.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Farwell of Zolfo Springs; mother, Hazel Clarice Thompson Farwell of Zolfo Springs; four children, Richard “Rick” (Pam) Farwell of Arcadia, Fla., Renee Spencer of Sarasota, Fla., Robynn Clarice (Jonathan) Bachman of Sarasota, and Richard Bates Farwell of Zolfo Springs; two stepdaughters, Rebecca (Kevin) Rickett of Wauchula, Fla., and Keri See of Zolfo Springs; and five grandchildren, Jadynn Clarice and Jonathan Bachman Jr., Ronnie Farwell, and Kaison and Keeton Rickett. Mr. Farwell was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Ivy.
Memorial services were held Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at Robarts Garden Chapel in Wauchula. Donations in memory of Richard Farwell may be made to Cowboy Up Ministry, 117 Evangeline St., Arcadia, FL 34266; or to Global Serve International, 2102 S.W. 47th St., Cape Coral, FL 33914.
