Betty Lynn Williford

Betty Lynn Williford, 70, passed away Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, in Bradenton, Fla.

Betty was born July 25, 1943, in Rensselaer, Ind., moving to Sarasota, Fla., in 1981 from Indiana.

She was a taxi driver in the Manatee County, Fla., area. Betty enjoyed needle crafts, cross-stitching and reading. She was a member of the American Legion, the VFW and the Moose Lodge, all in Sarasota. Betty enjoyed family get-togethers. She was of the Baptist faith.

Betty is survived by five children, including two sons, Dennis (Blair) Ellis of Key Largo, Fla., and Darrin Ellis of Sarasota; and three daughters, Rhonda (Tello) Amaro of Homestead, Fla., Laura (James) Martin of Arcadia, Fla., and Tina (Michael) Edgerton of Ocala, Fla.; along with a brother, Norman (Melinda) Johnson of Rensselaer; two sisters, Nancy Wagner of Rensselaer, and Joyce (Tom) Pierson of Goodland, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Reava Ellis Johnson; two brothers, Melvin and Arthur Johnson; and a sister, Vivian Fay Fyda.

Visitation will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, from the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia, FL 34266. Funeral services with entombment will follow at 1 p.m. at Manasota Memorial Park Cemetery in Bradenton, Fla. Online condolences may be made at www.pongerkaysgrady.com.
