Lula M. Richardson, 77, passed away Monday, Nov. 4, 2013.
She was born Dec. 10, 1935, in Arcadia, Fla., to Samuel Morgan Sr. and Corine Mack Morgan.
Mrs. Richardson graduated from Smith Brown High School in 1953. She was employed as a housekeeper for Hall Ranch of Punta Gorda, Fla., for many years, and later worked at G. Pierce Wood Memorial Hospital until she retired. Mrs. Richardson was always there to support her children in all the activities they participated in while growing up, and was always surround by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church until she decided to serve the Lord by her husband’s side, and attended New St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and was over the kitchen culinary department, Church Treasurer, Sunday school superintendent and helped rebuild the new Church.
She is survived by her sons, Terry, Thomas and Jason; daughter, Felicia; stepchildren, Diamond, Timothy and Malcolm; daughters-in-law, Tracey and Teresa; brothers and sisters, Bettye, Suesie, Samuel, Lawrence and James; five brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; aunt, Willie Bell; uncle-in-law, Eugene; her loving neighbors; caregiver, Jeannie; special friends; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Booker; son, Booker Jr.; two sisters, Thomasena and Mary; and niece, Deidra.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today, Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at Hickson Funeral Home in Arcadia. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at the House of God Church in Arcadia. Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery, also in Arcadia.
