Lillian B. Hawkins

Lillian B. Hawkins, 81, of Arcadia, Fla., passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at home, with her family by her side.

She was born in Winston, Ga., and moved to DeSoto County, Fla., in 1976 from Sarasota, Fla.

Lillian worked as a CNA for the former G. Pierce Wood Memorial Hospital for 20 years. She loved animals, dancing, family and, especially, her grandchildren. Lillian was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her son, Johnny E. (Robin) Hawkins of Arcadia; daughters, Cynthia E. (John) Drymon of Arcadia, Sandra L. (Pat Buzzard) Lawson of Arcadia, and Cheryl R. Hawkins of Bradenton, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, James Ray Hawkins Sr.; and sons, James Ray Hawkins Jr. and Randy Hawkins.

A private graveside service will be held Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at Joshua Creek Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.pongerkaysgrady.com.
