Robert W. Rausche

Robert W. “Bob” Rausche, 77, of Lake Suzy, Fla., passed away Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, after a long illness.

Mr. Rausche was born July 12, 1936, in Buffalo, N.Y., to William and Henrietta (nee Groh) Rausche, and moved to Florida in 2002.

He worked as a sales representative for Buffalo Wire Works. Robert was a past commander of AMVETS Post 7 in Akron, N.Y., and was a past commander of AMVETS Post 312 in North Port, Fla. He was also a member of the Punta Gorda, Fla., Marine Corps League, and a charter member of the men’s auxiliary of VFW Post 5690 in Port Charlotte, Fla. Bob was an avid U.S. Marine, but unfortunately his illness kept him away from his different Posts, but they were always in his heart.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Bahl-Rausche; children, Carol (William) Habarth, Sandra (David Wiepert) and Norman (Teri) Rausche; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two stepchildren; four step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Diane C. Rausche; brothers, William and Richard Rausche; and stepson, David Bahl.

A Memorial Service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at Paul Schelm Funeral Home, 12687 S.W. County Road 769 (Kings Highway), Lake Suzy.
