Carolyn Lee Welker, 79, of Arcadia, Fla., passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014.

She was born July 13, 1934, in Huntington, W.Va., to William Ray and Mabel Ellen Bundy Honaker.

In 1963, Carolyn moved to Broward County, Fla., and volunteered at the elementary school where her granddaughter attended. She loved being with her family more than anything, and came to Arcadia as often as possible to visit. Four years ago, Carolyn made Arcadia her home. She collected Happy Meal toys, and was of the Baptist faith.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Gary Lee (Sharon) Welker Sr. of Arcadia; daughter, Linda Morrow of Miramar, Fla.; brother, Michael Honaker of North Carolina; sisters, Della Casey of Cooper City, Fla., Linda (Steve) Calcagino of Arcadia, Annette Ross of Clearwater, Fla., and Cindy (Ron) Eggenberger of Davie, Fla.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Linville Junior Welker, in 2010; son, Gregory Allen Welker; sister, Diane Blake; and brother, Richard Honaker.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at Joshua Creek Cemetery, with Pastor Matt Roberts officiating. Online condolences can be made at www.pongerkaysgrady.com.
