State Attorney Ed Brodsky reported that Mark Kevin Hadsell II, 40, was convicted last week on charges of armed burglary of a dwelling, grand theft and two counts of grand theft of a firearm. He was tried in DeSoto County Court. He faces a possible life sentence.
The state is seeking enhancement of the penalty under the Prison Release Reoffender law, because the crimes were committed within three years after Hadsell, a Port Charlotte resident, had been released from prison for prior crimes.
