David Dion Foster, 38, was sentenced on Nov. 7 to serve six years in state prison for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon or with great bodily harm. He was turned over to the Department of Corrections on Nov. 21 and is projected to be released on March 3, 2023.

According to records from the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office, Arcadia Police Department, Clerk of Courts and Department of Corrections, the Arcadia Police Department responded to a 911 call regarding a domestic violence incident. According to witnesses, Foster began arguing with a woman. When she entered her house, he followed her and ripped her jacket. She tried to lock him out but he had keys and followed her into her bedroom and attacked her, punching her in the face and throwing her against the wall.
