A federal district court judge postponed sentencing for real estate mogul Greg Eagle on Tuesday, allowing both sides in a federal case to file briefs on whether Eagle should be allowed to change his guilty plea, according to several published news reports.

Eagle, 62, who once considered building a security training center in DeSoto County, pleaded guilty last March to six counts of fraud in connection with real estate deals he managed. He was expected to be sentenced Tuesday, but last week his lawyers sought the court’s permission for Eagle to change his plea.
