Cape Coral real estate developer Greg Eagle asked a federal court to let him withdraw his guilty plea on Dec. 13, according to a report from the Fort Myers News-Press.
Eagle had previously pleaded guilty in a federal case which claimed he used property which was tied up in a land trust as collateral to secure a $17 million loan for his own project. The other investors in the land trust were not aware of Eagle’s use of the property as collateral, and Eagle’s other deal ultimately collapsed, according to the lawsuit.
