The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Arcadia man, 30-year-old James Idison Barfield, on Friday on charges of aggravated battery and criminal mischief.

According to the arrest report, a 43-year-old woman reported Barfield, of the 2100 block of Howard Ave., Arcadia, had driven by her house several times, sometimes yelling. Once he drove by and threw clothing that belonged to her daughter out of his truck. When the woman began screaming at him, he reportedly turned the truck and accelerated toward her. She jumped out of his way, and Barfield then reportedly struck her vehicle in the driveway, pushing it into a second vehicle, a van; and then pushing the van into a third vehicle, a pickup. SCSO estimated damage to the three vehicles to be $5,000.
