An Arcadian man riding a bicycle is dead after he was run over by two separate vehicles Friday night, and one driver was charged with DUI.

According to a report issued by the Florida Highway Patrol, around 7:29 p.m., Joseph Albert Adams, 63, of Arcadia, was crossing State Road 70 in front of Walmart, when he entered the path of a Ford Escort driven by Lisa C. Summerlin, 32, of Clarksville, Fla, heading eastbound. Summerlin was unable to avoid hitting Adams, FHP said, and he was vaulted over the Escort’s hood, landing in the center of the roadway.
