Two women were arrested on charges that they used their positions as Walmart associates to collect money for fraudulent merchandise returns.

According to the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office, a loss protection specialist at Walmart reported suspicions to DCSO about two women, both of whom worked at the customer service desk. According to the report, Samantha Jo Bouyea and Samantha Kay Fewox would scan returned merchandise waiting to be returned to its rightful department, or they would scan a receipt, and refund money to themselves, usually on a gift card or sometimes as cash. The two, the report states, would scan and make refunds for each other.
