The DeSoto County High Bulldogs (4-4) had a perfect ending to a less-than-perfect season with a hard fought 10-9 win over Lakewood Ranch Friday night. It was homecoming and senior night, along with the final game of the season for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs reached into their bag of tricks on the first play of the game, just as they did against Bayshore earlier this season. Arnold (Bubba) Mele took a double handoff and rolled to his right and looked for freshman wide receiver Ty Wesley. Mele found him all alone and completed the 85-yard touchdown to give the Bulldogs a quick 7-0 lead.
