DeSoto County High School head football coach Matt Egloff resigned this week from his position with the Bulldogs. His tenure as the football coach began in the spring game of 2010 and ended with a win over Lakewood Ranch, finishing the 2017 season at 4-4.
“I want to make sure that everybody knows that my resignation had nothing to do with the incident in practice last week. It’s just time to step down. I’m 46 now and the drive just isn’t there anymore. I’ve got a daughter that will be coming into the high school next year and my son will be in the middle school and both of them are playing sports, so I want to spend more time with them,” said Egloff.
