As part of the Friends of Arcadia Airport’s monthly pancake breakfast this Saturday (http://foaa.us/pancakes-golf), pilots will play golf at the 95-year-old Arcadia Golf Course, one of 53 listed in “Florida’s Historic Golf Trail” (http://floridahistoricgolftrail.com).

“The Month at a Glance” column in the December 1922 issue of “Golf Illustrated Magazine” featured the Arcadia Golf Course: “Mr. [A. C.] Polk has been elected president for the first year and the course has been constructed under the supervision of Gerald C. Bond.”
