The Heartland Games are open to men and women 50 years and older competing against others of the same gender and age group. The Games run Feb. 2-March 1 and are sanctioned by the Florida Sports Foundation and serve as a qualifying event for the Florida State Games for DeSoto County residents and those in surrounding counties.

Registration forms for the Heartland Games are readily available in Arcadia. The entry fee of just $15 covers the cost of one event, a dri-fit shirt, medals for men and women in each five-year age group from 50-54 up to 90+ and lunch at many of the events. For just $25 one can compete in as many of the events as desired.
