DeSoto blanks Hardee in district opener

The first step on the road to the district crown started with a less than inspiring performance by the Bulldogs as they swept Hardee 25-12, 25-20 and 25-16. The Bulldogs have beaten the Wildcats 9-0 in the three times they have met this season, but Tuesday’s performance was not how DeSoto County Coach Laura White wanted to start the playoffs.

“Even though we won tonight, we didn’t execute very well. We didn’t have the fire in our eyes. We can’t continue to play like this and expect to go far in the tournament,” she said.
