The only freshman who started all season for the DeSoto County Bulldogs was Nirion Washington, who jarred this pass out of the hands of the Wildcats’ receiver with a hard hit.

The scoreboard said that Hardee had won 26-7 over DeSoto County, but in some aspects it was a victory for the boys from Arcadia. For the first time since the first couple of weeks in the season the Bulldogs played with some fire and passion.

“If you play with that kind of passion and intensity, you give yourself a shot (to win),” Bulldogs’ head coach Matt Egloff told his team after the game. “We’ve been walking through the whole season and we’ve been telling you to play the game with heart and finally tonight we did. We went down swinging. Why don’t you play like this every week? We could be pretty good but you got to want to play every week.”
