It was like taking a butter knife to a gun fight. The DeSoto County junior varsity basketball team had four players missing from their season finale at Port Charlotte. Although they played as well as they could with what they had, they got hammered 72-38.
The result was as expected. The Pirates scored the first seven points of the game and never looked back as they built a 20-5 first quarter lead. The Bulldogs trailed by 22 at the half and it just got worse after that.
