PORT CHARLOTTE —On a lot of major league teams, Sean Rodriguez, Logan Forsythe and Jayson Nix would probably be battling each other for one reserve infield job. On the Tampa Bay Rays, there’s a chance all three could make the team together.
The Rays already have their starting nine solidified, but they still have three spots up for grabs on what is expected to be a four-man bench. And when asked if he thought Rodriguez, Forsythe and Nix — all infielders by trade — could all break camp with the team, Tampa Bay manager Joe Maddon seemed intrigued by the idea.
