PORT CHARLOTTE — David Price and R.A. Dickey are both on schedule to start against each other on opening day March 31, so neither the Tampa Bay Rays or Toronto Blue Jays wanted to give their opponent a closer look on Friday.

Instead, the Rays’ ace left-hander threw a simulated game one of the back fields two hours prior to the Rays’ 5-0 loss to the Blue Jays. Price threw 106 pitches and got into the eighth inning against minor leaguers as fellow pitchers Matt Moore and Jake Odorizzi watched.
