DeSoto County senior Bay Hale rocks and fires to the plate in the district loss to Hardee on April 3. Hale had an outstanding game, throwing 86 pitches in five innings and allowing four hits.

Bulldog first baseman Robb Adams can’t come up with a low throw from catcher Will Nelson on a failed pickoff attempt. The ball hit the soft sand and didn’t come up and went into the right field corner. DeSoto County played well but couldn’t score in the 3-0 loss to Hardee.

If you’re a fan of high scoring baseball games, Southeast High School was the place to be April 1. The visiting Bulldogs put an old fashioned whipping on the Seminoles 22-2. Tony LaLonde, Brad Roberts and Will Nelson each had three hits and LaLonde, Nelson, Robb Adams and Grant Potter drove in three runs apiece.

If you prefer well played pitching duels, however, last Thursday’s home game against Hardee fit the bill. The Wildcats came to town and put their ace pitcher on the mound as they tried to add another win onto their 14-2 season record.
