DeSoto County senior Debbie Brown gets her arms extended and drills this pitch for a two-run shot over the center field fence. It was her fourth homer of the year. The big blast got the Bulldogs back into the game 4-3. That was the final score as neither team could score over the final five innings.

“Downtown” Debbie Brown wears the No. 4 on her uniform because as a freshman she idolized former Bulldog Katelynn Johnson, who wore the No. 5. “I wanted a number close to hers because I wanted to be a player as good as she was,” Brown said.

It’s too bad Brown didn’t choose No. 6. If she had, maybe DeSoto County would have beaten the Port Charlotte Pirates instead of dropping another close game 4-3.
