MURDOCK — Charlotte County is pulling out of the Southwest Florida Regional Planning Council, following in the footsteps of other key members and putting the organization’s future in jeopardy.
In voting to withdraw from the RPC, county commissioners said they receive little return on their $50,000 annual membership fee. However, Charlotte will continue to pay dues for one more year, at which time its membership will formally expire.
