A fired Pizza Hut employee was arrested Tuesday after refusing to leave the business. Just before 6 p.m., the manager of the Pizza Hut at 3068 Tamiami Trail called the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office about former employee Delano Karlos Mathurin, 25, who had stationed himself in a back office and said he was not leaving.

When deputies arrived, Mathurin walked into the main area of the store but retreated back to the office when they tried to talk with him. Mathurin sat down in an office chair and refused to answer any questions or provide information on his identity, according to the arrest report. Instead, he began posing history questions to the deputies, stating that he wanted to test their historical knowledge.
