Florida Power & Light damage assessment crews found the FPL electric grid in much better shape than expected after Irma on Tuesday. The company predicted essentially full system restoration by Friday, Sept. 22.
Rob Gould, FPL communications vice president, said, “Our power poles of concrete and steel have held up, which speeds the restoration effort. We are encouraged by what we are seeing with our transmission lines and substations, the backbone of our system.
