Wayfinding bicycle route created in Venice

On Tuesday, Feb. 6, the Venice Area Bike/Ped Advocacy Group volunteers and Venice Bicycle Pedestrian Coordinator Darlene Culpepper met at the Venice Train Depot to begin laying the medallions along the Venice Connect route.

The City of Venice unveiled a bicycle wayfinding route earlier this week. The route avoids traveling across the Venice Avenue Bridge, or crossing U.S. 41 Business.

City of Venice Bicycle Pedestrian Coordinator Darlene Culpepper and a team of volunteers have installed Venice Connect wayfinding medallions for bicyclists, starting along the Legacy Trail.

Bicyclists can follow these arrows for a safer route — approximately 2 miles — to downtown Venice.
