A semi tractor trailer fire on Interstate 75 caused backups and delays throughout Charlotte County Tuesday.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident began with a five-vehicle collision near mile marker 164, where the interstate is under construction with concrete barriers lining the outside and inside lane. Five people were transported to Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte with minor injuries. The inside lane was blocked due to the damaged vehicles.
