Dr. Mark Asperilla said he was “honored and humbled” by his induction Thursday into the Charlotte County Tourism Hall of Fame by the Punta Gorda/Englewood Beach Visitor & Convention Bureau.

Asperilla, slowed by a series of strokes, spoke before becoming the fifth inductee into the hall during the bureau’s annual luncheon Thursday at the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center. About 160 attended.
