SOUTH VENICE — A state-authorized trapper hauled a 13-foot alligator Sunday out of the same section of canal where a dog was fatally bitten and another went missing in a park last week.

The trapper, authorized by the Florida Wildlife Commission SNAP program, under the watchful and protective eye of the Sarasota County Animal Services and Sheriff’s Office deputies, removed the alligator from Shamrock Park.
