NORTH PORT — If North Port city commissioners had followed Assistant City Manager Danny Schult’s July 2012 memo, a request for proposal seeking a long-term operator for Warm Mineral Springs Day Spa would be complete, with contract negotiations underway.
Instead, on Monday at their 6 p.m. meeting, city commissioners will go back to the drawing board and potentially discuss the best process for a short-term operator and eventual long-term plan to run the Springs which is co-owned by the city and Sarasota County. The tourist attraction has been closed to the public for nearly four months.
