Venice Theatre is considered the third most important community theater in the United States by the American Association of Community Theatres which will host its international festival at the theater for the second time next June.

The concerned parent of a Heron Creek Middle School student in North Port was surprised to learn recently, after her daughter told her a classmate had head lice, that having the pest isn’t a cause for being sent home from school for lengthy periods like it used to be.

In fact, in both Sarasota and Charlotte counties, students are allowed to return the same day if they have received treatment.
