Sarasota commissioners approve Englewood apartments
ENGLEWOOD — Much to the dismay of some of the 55-and-older residents of Tangerine Woods and Foxwood, they will see new and younger neighbors.
The Sarasota County Commission voted 4-1 Tuesday, with Commission Chairman Charles Hines dissenting, on a rezoning that allows Gallina Companies to build a 68-unit apartment complex on a six-acre property fronting on State Road and bordering Tangerine Woods and Foxwood. Plans show four two-story buildings at 28 feet tall.
