City workers in line for raise

Five months after the previous one-year contract expired, the city of Venice and its largest employee union are about settle on a new agreement.

The Local 1718 bargaining unit of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees already signed off on the proposed three-year agreement. It’s anticipated City Council will ratify it next week.
