Insanity defense trial expected to wrap Monday

SARASOTA COUNTY — The first-degree murder trial of Michael W. Rice, the South Carolina man charged with the first-degree murder of Philippe Nahon in 2012, should be winding down next week.
Rice’s defense attorneys called their last witness Friday at the Sarasota County Justice Center, a psychiatrist who treated Rice while he was committed to a mental health facility at age 16.
