Lisa Moon has seen more than her share of medical misfortunes. When she was 18, she married her 19-year-old high school sweetheart. He already had Hodgkins disease, and it turned out to be a particularly aggressive form.
For two years, she was his caregiver. But despite intensive treatment, he succumbed to the cancer at age 21. In her sorrow, she vowed then and there to make a career for herself in the medical field, and she did — first as an office coordinator for Gulf Coast Medical Group and currently as an electronic health records specialist at Venice Regional Bayfront Health.
