Venice sign may be

changed to LED display

The city’s main marquee, installed in 1987 on Venice Avenue at U.S. 41 Business, is still maintained by hand, fitting black letters on a white board behind a glass face.

The organization that uses it to advertise downtown events now says it’s long overdue for a facelift.
