Have you heard the theory that builders are eschewing projects in Charlotte County because they can fetch better prices for similar homes in Lee and Sarasota counties? Don’t tell that to Alyson Byrne, new homes specialist for Maronda Homes of Florida.
Byrne, who landed her highest-profile buyer last month when Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Evan Longoria bought a home in the company’s River Club community off Harborview Road, said she is consistently selling new homes for well north of $200,000 in the three communities where the Pittsburgh-based company is building. Longoria himself may not recognize his neighborhood when he returns in February for spring training.
