Corey Cyr, the manager at Petsmart in Port Charlotte, told me about a good idea his company has initiated.

They’re asking customers to chip in a $5 donation when they come through the checkout line. Ten percent goes to Petsmart’s charity, which helps with pet adoptions. That’s cool, but it’s where the rest of the donation goes that caught my attention. It buys a soft, cuddly stuffed animal for a child who can use one, right here in Charlotte County.
