Events that Changed History at Elsie Quirk Library

T he AARP Tax Aid Volunteers provide assistance to low - and middle-income taxpayers from 10 a.m. to noon. Friday. An appointment is necessary. To make a n appointment, visit the Elsie Quirk Library at 100 West Dearborn St ., and sign up in the self- service appointment book for an available time.  At 10:3 0 a.m. the Basic Conversational Spanish Class meets. This class runs through April and is taught by retired educator Dan Duffy. At 2 p.m., enjoy “The World Was Never the Same — Events that Changed History Video Lecture Series.” View a video of a lecture by Professor Fears, and then participate in a moderated discussion. This week’s topics are “The Archduke Makes a State Visit (1914)” and “One Night in Petrograd (1917).”

The AARP Tax Aid Volunteers provide assistance to those with appointments from 1 to 4:30 p.m. in the upstairs conference room, Saturday.
