‘ T heir land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands that their own fingers have made.” ( Isaiah 2:8)
The house of Jacob, Israel, was in and out of relationship with God from the beginning. Too often the people decided what the nations around them were doing was better than what they had with God, and began to rely on their own abilities. When the nation suffered, the people of Israel renewed their relationship with God, hoping to get out of the trouble they had created by their own unfaithfulness.
