Earlier in the week, Gregory Miller, chief economist for SunTrust Bank, met with about a dozen of us to talk about the economy — past, present and future. It was a chance to get the word from a banker who ought to know.
It was coffee and pastry in the bank’s ninth floor boardroom with its panoramic view of Sarasota. Miller has been SunTrust’s chief economist for 20 years and keeps an eye on 53 geographic areas. He says the 16 most interesting are in Florida. “It happens first in Florida,” he said.
