The naming of local towns

Three of the towns in our area — Englewood, Grove City and El Jobean — have a lot in common, historically speaking.

They were all originally platted and developed by early entrepreneurs who had a game plan in mind that, first of all, was to make themselves very rich. All plans evolved around real estate sales and agriculture projects, and each of the developers built a hotel on the property to house prospective buyers. But they all took a different approach on town naming.
