Have you thought about volunteering? It is a perfect way to connect with your community. The simple act of offering your skills and enthusiasm will positively impact the lives of others and also yourself! Helping others always makes you feel better and provides you with a stronger sense of purpose. A classic example of people who constantly give of themselves at Charlotte County Habitat is Russell and Wilma Collier. Retiring to Florida from Indiana, their path with Charlotte County Habitat crossed when their son was approved for home ownership and they came to help him with his “sweat equity” hours. That was in 2006 and they have been volunteering ever since!

On any given day, you will see Wilma in our receiving area sorting, cleaning, testing and organizing donated items getting them ready for the showroom.
