On Veterans Day, Nov. 11, the Douglas T. Jacobson Veterans Nursing Home hosted a special program for residents and visitors, including lunch for all.

A sprightly Anna Wojtalik goes back and forth, up and down the halls of the Douglas T. Jacobson Veterans Nursing Home, with only her steadfast walker evidence of her 96 years. Although new to the Port Charlotte veterans home in November, she couldn’t be happier.

“It’s so nice and happy and clean. The atmosphere is great,” she said, pausing long enough to answer a few questions.
